The Student Council, working in close cooperation with the Student Affairs and the college management, typically engages in a wide variety of extracurricular activities such as:

  • UAE National Celebration Day
  • Twice a year picnic party for students
  • Charity Fashion Show to support economically disadvantaged students at ECMIT and outside
  • Football competition with external organizations
  • In-door Iftar Party
  • Improvements of student services such as dining and classroom facilities etc.
  • The Student Council meets regularly in a designated spacious and well furnished “Student Services” facility provided by the College.

During the Self Study it was revealed that the College does not have a fully dedicated well trained professional in this area. Under the 2010-11 organization structure, the Student Affairs was a part of the Academic Affairs overseen by the VPAA. A mid-level manager whose functions are mainly admissions and marketing was also given charge of student affairs. In recent meetings, the students have expressed concern about the limited support from the College. The College management has allocated a modest budget to support this development program.
